Sweet Sixteen Candle Lighting Ceremony in the BEGINNING or END?

A Candle Lighting Ceremony is traditionally done towards the end of the party. But what if it was in the Beginning?

First off, everyone can agree that a Sweet Sixteen is supposed to be the party of the birthday girl’s dreams. Especially relevant, the Candle Lighting Ceremony is there for the Sweet Sixteen to showcase how much she loves all of her guests. However she wants it done – is how it gets done!

However, today young people get very caught up in the expectations set by others and can sometimes get stuck with fear of outside of the box thinking.

Luminique Events Group tries to push every party we work with to innovate and go outside of their comfort zone! That’s the only way to assure greatness!

 

In addition, here at Luminique Events Group we have been partying with a lot of Sweet Sixteens who prefer to do their Candle Lighting Ceremony RIGHT AFTER the Grand Introduction in the beginning of the party!

WHAT?!

So it kinda goes like this…

7PM – guests arrive

7:15 – Sweet Sixteen is introduced. Special Dance. Welcome Speech by Parents.

7:45 – Candelighting Ceremony

8:15 – Dinner

8:45/8:50 – Dance

9:45 – Dessert

10 – Dance till the end of theoretical party – 11 PM

We totally agree with this idea of doing the Candle Lighting Ceremony in the beginning of the evening. Here’s why – Sweet Sixteens, although traditional, really do not have as many formalities as some other formal events. Some events like Weddings and Mitzvahs require a huge overall time slot to be set aside strictly for formalities. As you see here with the proposed party model, it is possible to finish Sweet Sixteen Formalities in under an hour. This way, there is more time for talk with family and friends. Also, there will be more time for eating the delicious food.

But more importantly, this leaves much more time for dancing – which is why you hired Luminique Events Group in the first place!

 

Yet, we do see the downside of bulking the formalities together. Although it is possible to finish all formalities of a Sweet Sixteen, this does mean a total hour just about of your guests sitting in their seats, watching formalities! Sometimes guests can get antsy, but they will find the patience was worth it while the rest of the party goes generally undisturbed!

Of course, Luminique Events Group does not deter Sweet Sixteens from doing what they like too! We are just presenting another side of the same book!

Keeping things traditional in events like these sometimes is for a lot more than just the party. Traditions are important to maintain and Luminique agrees with that. When the Sweet Sixteen Candle Lighting Ceremony is done towards the end of the evening, as it usually is, time is still divvied up proportionately.

The majority of our Sweet Sixteens go something like this:

7PM – guests arrive

7:30 – Sweet Sixteen is introduced. Special Dance. Welcome Speech by parents.

8 – Dinner

8:30 – Dance

9:15 – Candle Lighting Ceremony / Dessert

10:15 – Dance till the end of theoretical party – 11 PM

ESPECIALLY IF LUMINIQUE EVENTS GROUP IS THERE…WITH A DJ AND A PHOTOBOOTH

 

This time we were at the Cupsaw Clubhouse in Ringwood, NJ!

 

First things first – we must tell you that we do indeed know this AWESOME group of people.

We have done quite a few parties for this group, so we knew exactly what we were heading too…

 

a long, memorable evening.

 

And why not? The guests and family and friends that we have met at all of these parties are some of the nicest, and most fun people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. In our case, we had the pleasure and honor of PARTYING WITH THESE PEOPLE! :0

Luminique Events Group is a group of many talents: of course you know we blowed the place out with our DJ services, but we also had our one of a kind Photobooth and our handy Photographer walking around all night documenting the insanity on the dancefloor (pictures AND video)

How does the saying go again?

“pics or it didnt happen”

Well this party definitely happened, look at all the media we have to prove it!

So of course, we had our Electric Grand Introductions, Delicious Dinner, a Touching Sixteen Candles ceremony, and an outrageously packed dancefloor. We almost feel bad for our good friends down at Cupsaw Lake, we keep having parties at their beautiful Clubhouse – which means we are forced on the reg to BEAT UP their brand new Hardwood Flooring!

Just be sure to tell our good friend Paul (who books the parties) that his boys over here at Luminique Events Group will try to keep the Party Insanity at a reasonable minimum…

WONDERING HOW TO HAVE A ONE-OF-A-KIND BAT MITZVAH?

LUMINIQUE EVENTS GROUP & THE CLUBHOUSE AT PATRIOT HILLS CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!

To start off, we did a Sweet 16 within this family not too too long ago.We knew as soon as we received that phone call with a familiar voice on the other end that we were in for a good time!

Talk about FAMILY & PASSION!

Every single person there was there for two things:

1. FOR JENNA – THE BIRTHDAY GIRL (OBVIOUSLY)

[or so we hope, which was determined by the brutal game of Guest of Honor Trivia we held after dessert…]

& 2. TO CELEBRATE THEIR LOVED ONE’S LIFE

IS THERE NO BETTER REASON TO PARTY?!

The Clubhouse at The Patriot Hills was beautiful! The staff, to say the least, know what they’re doing. Food & Venue were very High-End & Prestigious. What once was part of the grounds of Letchworth Village, The Clubhouse had a rich history and physical atmosphere that gave the “New York State” vibe the East Coast loves.

If you’re over there, make sure you tell Gina & Allison that Doug & John from Luminique Events Group say “Hello” 🙂

Our friend Melissa Griegel was there keeping the kids occupied while they weren’t dancing with us with her Photobooth! Definitely be sure to visit her website and check out her work!!!

This wasn’t the most “traditional” Bat Mitzvah, but that is what Luminique is all about:

We do love doing Bat Mitzvahs, or anything Mitzvahs for that matter. But we truly love the most at Luminique Events Group is delivering the product that the people want.

When people are dancing all night and after the party they are looking for their shoes, their jacket – slightly out of breath, and we overhear a guest say to their friend…

“Midnight already? I was just getting started!”

POLAR PLUNGE FOR PREVENTION 2016 IS HERE!

& AND WE NEED YOU!

It has become an Annual Event, organized by our dear friends over at YAASA & AWARE.

YAASA, after having worked closely with them for sometime now, makes major steps in the fight against Substance Abuse. To quote their website:

The mission of Young Adults Against Substance Abuse (YAASA) is
to focus prevention efforts in a preemptive (not reactive) approach on
young adults around the ages of 18-30.

YAASA will play an active role in the community by making their presence
known through school presentations, fundraisers, and events.

AWARE / ASAP is a group similar to YAASA. However they remains in Lakeland Regional High School. This organization focuses on the very young generation; giving them the seeds of knowledge and caution for the years to come.

COMBINED, YAASA & AWARE WORK TIRELESSLY THROUGHOUT THE 973 AND SURROUNDING AREAS TO BRING SUBSTANCE ABUSE INTO THE LIGHT – AND THEY ARE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB FIGHTING THIS FIGHT!

We could not be more honored & thrilled to assist in this fight.

We participated and helped work the Polar Plunge last year as well, and it was a great time, truly. This year we hope for an even better turn out!

A Change for Nick, another State-Wide group, will also be there spreading the Good Word of Resilience to be used in this fight.

THERE WILL BE FOOD AND ALL KINDS OF REFRESHMENTS. SPEECHES & SPECIAL APPEARANCES. WARMING TENTS WILL ALSO BE SET UP FOR ANY WITH THE GUTZ TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POLAR PLUNGE, AND WE WILL HAVE OUR GREAT FRIENDS FROM SKYLINE LAKES & ERSKINE LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT THERE TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE EMERGES FROM THE ICE WATER SAFELY 🙂

Meaning: We provided three aspects of entertainment that are undeniably important.

Lighting, specifically our Package “A”

Music, Johnny Bobev & Doug Ruccione creating the soundtrack for the evening

Our one-of-a-kind Photobooth, snapping pictures for three (3) hours. All photos taken at the Photobooth were printed out on the spot; beautiful 4×6 prints with Kinnelon Cheer’s logo on each picture.

At Luminique, we believe that every occassion where people get together deserves to be remembered.
